This is an extremely RARE pair of Mandel's Skyscraper heels from the 1950's.
The skyscraper line was put out by quality shoe designer Mandel's (of California) at a time when a high heel was on average 3 1/2 inches in height.
Well, Mandel's dared to put out this scandalous 4 1/2 inch stiletto heel at that time, and this particular design and maker is an example worn by many of the Fetish models you see in Bizarre and Exotique magazine, etc. and on John Willie and Irving Klaw models.  (that is when they weren't teetering around in the 6 inch custom heels!)

This particular pair came from an older woman's estate - the daughter said her Mother wore these for some Pin-up modeling in the 1950's.
I should also note that Mandel's made a very high quality shoe compared to some other brands.
This shoe is made of a black fabric called 'faille'. Faille Fabric has an elegantly ribbed cross wire design. The ribs are crafted from thicker or clustered weft yarns and thinner warp yarns that give the material a more pronounced texture. Faille Fabrics are typically made of silk.
The heels have a pointed toe and stiletto "champagne style" heel.
They have real leather soles and real leather inside lining and insole.
They are stamped size 8 inside (and I think I faintly see an M for medium width).
They measure 10 1/2 inches from toe to heel.
3 1/4 inches across the ball of the foot.
4 1/2 inch heel.

In excellent condition. The heel taps and fabric of the shoe are both in excellent condition.  Inside and out the shoes are in wonderful condition.
