This is an antique Ladies bodice from the Edwardian or Victorian era. Dates anywhere from the 1890's to 1910? It is a beige silk fabric with burgundy velvet accent fabric. This garment has 11 original brass painted buttons with burgundy velvet flowers on the buttons! Only the bottom button is missing.
There is no boning in this bodice - only in two spots inside, perhaps someone removed it?
This is over 100 years old, so it does have minor wear, fraying, but overall I'd say this is in remarkable condition for its age! This would be perfect for a gothic modeling shoot or to add to your Victorian collection.
The sizing is such that it could fit a modern-size woman. You should have a 30-31" bust and 23-24" waist to wear this. There is a good amount of room in the shoulders and the sleeves. I am a size 2, 32" bust, 26" waist and it fit me in the shoulders and sleeves but I could not button it at all in the waist, was almost able to button it at the bust.
